We truly appreciate your patience as we work through the evaluation process this year. As you all know the weather forced cancellation of most of our scheduled scrimmages and skills evaluations during the month of February. As a result, we were forced to significantly condense our evaluation efforts. We appreciate all those who went the extra mile to make it to an evaluation session this past weekend. We are currently completing the evaluation process for our A teams which includes ensuring that all candidates for those teams participate in individual skills evaluations and are given adequate time in game like situations in front of our A team coaches. Once we complete that process, the A teams will be announced and our B and C team coaches will meet to select players for their respective teams. We expect to have all this done by the end of the week and have all teams practicing over the weekend.
The goal throughout our evaluation process is to make sure that all our players find a team where they can play lacrosse at a level that is appropriate for their skill level and playing experience. Great Falls Lacrosse takes great care in making sure that our teams at all skill levels (A, B and C) are balanced and provide our players with the opportunity to further their interest in the game in a safe and enjoyable manner.
This has been an unusual year for us as a result of the weather related delays. Therefore, in an effort to ensure that we meet the goal of our evaluation process, our coaches at all levels (A, B and C) will be given latitude to recommend roster changes prior to March 21st if they feel a player is better suited for a different skill level, or if a movement of players between teams will serve to better balance our teams within a particular age group and/or skill level. Any such recommendation will be reviewed by the commissioners and a final decision will be made by March 24th when rosters are due to NVYLL.
